Prairiestone Appworks (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Drag Race Dashcam mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and how it is stored.
Summary
Drag Race Dashcam is built to keep your data on your device. We do not operate servers that receive your videos, location data, or usage information, and we do not sell or share your data with third parties.
Information the App Accesses
Camera
The App uses your device's camera to record video of your runs, including on-screen performance stats (reaction time, elapsed time, and related data) overlaid on the video. This recording only happens when you actively start a run in the App.
Microphone
The App can optionally record audio using your device's microphone during a run, if you turn this feature on in Settings. This feature is off by default. When enabled, the recorded audio is combined with your video and saved locally on your device, the same as your video recordings — it is never transmitted to us or stored on any external server.
Location Data (Precise/GPS)
The App uses precise location data to help detect vehicle movement for red-light foul detection and to support performance statistics during a run. Location data is used in real time on your device and is not transmitted to us or stored on any external server.
Motion Sensors
The App also uses your device's motion sensors (such as the accelerometer) to detect launches and measure G-force during a run. Like everything else described here, this data stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.
Locally Stored Files
Recorded videos, run statistics, and history are saved directly to your device's local storage. We do not have access to these files, and they are not automatically uploaded anywhere.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, or other identity information.
- We do not require account creation or login.
- We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs that track you.
- We do not access your contacts, photos (outside the App's own saved videos), or other apps.
Sharing Your Content
The App includes an optional Share feature that lets you send a saved run video to other apps on your device (such as Messages or social media) using your device's native share function. This action is entirely user-initiated — the App does not share, upload, or transmit your videos unless you explicitly choose to do so through this feature. What happens to the video after it leaves your device is governed by the policies of the app or service you choose to share it with.
Because the App records video from in and around your vehicle, recordings may incidentally include other people, vehicles, or license plates. You are responsible for reviewing a recording before sharing it.
In-App Purchases
The App offers a free trial period and a one-time payment to unlock full functionality. All payment processing is handled directly by the Google Play Store's billing system. We do not receive or store your payment card information, billing address, or other financial details — that information is handled entirely by Google in accordance with their own privacy policy.
Future Features (Bluetooth Sync)
A future version of the App may include an optional Bluetooth-based feature allowing two nearby devices running the App to sync for a shared “double tree” start sequence. This feature, when released, will operate as a direct local connection between nearby devices and will not transmit data to us or to any external server. This Privacy Policy will be updated before that feature becomes available if its introduction changes how data is handled.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your videos and run history remain on your device until you delete them within the App or uninstall the App. Since we do not store your data on any server, we have no ability to retrieve, restore, or delete this data on your behalf — deletion is entirely in your control through your device.
Legal Requests
Because we do not collect or store your recordings, location data, or usage information on our own servers, we generally have nothing to provide in response to law enforcement or other legal requests regarding your use of the App.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
Because all data stays on your device, the security of your recordings and statistics depends on your device's own security settings (such as screen lock and OS-level protections). We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
